Webster County Memorial Hospital Hires Jim Parker, FACHE, as New CEO

Webster Springs, WV – The Webster County Memorial Hospital (WCMH) Board of Directors has hired Jim Parker, FACHE, as Chief Executive Officer.  Mr. Parker is an operational healthcare leader with more than 20 years of experience. He assumed his new duties on October 9th.

“Mr. Parker’s healthcare experience spans a wide variety of key areas including physician relations, financial oversight, quality and safety, and, strategic innovation and growth,” said Board Chair Louise Hamrick. “We truly look forward to working with him in advancing care for Webster Springs and the region.”

Prior to accepting the CEO position at WCMH, Mr. Parker served as the Vice President of Primary Care Operations, Parkview Physicians Group, for Parkview Health System, a nine-hospital health system in Fort Wayne, IN.  Previously in his career, he served in administrative leadership roles for Bon Secours Virginia Health System in Hampton Roads, Virginia, and Catholic Health Partners, Mercy Health Physicians of Springfield, Ohio.  He began his career in the early 1990’s as an Assistant Administrator with Appalachian Regional Healthcare in southeastern Kentucky.

Mr. Parker holds a Master of Business Administration from the University of Pittsburgh Graduate School Of Business, and a Master of Health Administration from the University of Pittsburgh Graduate School Of Public Health.  He achieved Fellow status in the American College of Healthcare Executives (FACHE), and is a Certified Medical Practice Executive (CMPE).

“My wife and I fell in love with West Virginia when we honeymooned here many years ago,” said Mr. Parker.  “Having the opportunity to return as CEO of Webster Memorial is something we both really look forward to.”

“I want to bring my knowledge and experience to help physicians, hospital managers, and employees align their efforts and improve organizational outcomes,” he added.  “Building teams and listening to people’s concerns while focusing on patient, employee, and provider experience can move the entire organization to a higher level.”

Mr. Parker is employed by Davis Health System (DHS), with whom Webster County Memorial Hospital contracts for management services.  The new CEO will be based out of Webster and work full-time at the hospital.
