DHS to Celebrate Pastoral Care Week
October 15, 2018
Elkins, WV – Pastoral Care Week is celebrated October 21-27, and Davis Health System (DHS) is recognizing those who provide spiritual support to patients and all members of the community.
DMC Chaplains will offer special “Blessing of the Hands” services to employees and volunteers at facilities in Elkins and Philippi.
“We recognize the significant contributions that chaplains, pastors, pastoral counselors and other spiritual caregivers make toward the health and wellbeing of people in our community,” said Rev. Dena Andrews, Lead Chaplain and Pastoral care Coordinator for Davis Health system.
The theme of Pastoral Care Week is “Hospitality: Cultivating Time” which recognizes that time is precious in developing relationships, and that nurturing of connections requires an attitude of listening and appreciation to those being cared for.
