Broaddus Hospital’s Senior Life Solutions Finalist in 2018 SLS of the Year Award

Philippi, WV – Broaddus Hospital is pleased to announce that the Broaddus Senior Life Solutions (SLS) program received notification of being honored as one of three finalists for the nationwide 2018 SLS Program of the Year award.  With over 70 SLS programs considered, Broaddus Hospital received notification of the honor during a recent surprise visit by SLS management.

Senior Life Solutions honors the top performing employees and programs annually based on their excellence in demonstrating the company’s values of care, compliance, and community.  Award recipients demonstrated outstanding patient care, excellent comprehension and execution of compliance regulations, and strong community engagement.    

Award recipient and program director, Donetta McVicker, BSN, RN, said, “Senior Life Solutions is committed to providing seniors with the most comprehensive care available. Our multidisciplinary team of professionals closely monitors our patient’s frequently changing healthcare needs to ensure a continuum of care. We feel incredibly honored to receive this recognition and take great pride in offering the best possible healthcare to the people of Barbour County and the surrounding area.”

Broaddus Hospital Senior Life Solutions program is an intensive outpatient group therapy program designed to meet the unique needs of older adults over the age of 65 struggling with symptoms of depression and anxiety often related to aging.  The program staff includes a board-certified psychiatrist, licensed social workers, a registered nurse, and other professionals dedicated to the emotional well-being of seniors in the community.

Anyone can refer an individual to the program including family members, physicians, or other health professionals.
