Davis Medical Center Earns Gold Status for Cardio-Pulmonary Quality Measure
Elkins, W.Va. -- For the fourth consecutive year, Davis Medical Center (DMC) has earned the highest distinction from the American Heart Association (AHA)/American Stroke Association Get With The Guidelines program. The Gold Resuscitation Quality Achievement Award recognizes that DMC has demonstrated at least 85 percent compliance in the cardio-pulmonary arrest resuscitation quality measures for a period of 12 months.

Davis Medical Center Diabetes Program Earns Continued ADA Recognition
The Davis Medical Center Lifeskills program has been recognized for meeting national standards for diabetes self-management education by the American Diabetes Association for the period of Feb. 1, 2018 to Feb. 1, 2022. Davis Medical Center is second in State to earn CDC Diabetes Designation
The Davis Medical Center Diabetes Prevention Program is one of only two programs in West Virginia to achieve preliminary recognition by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. “We now have the ability to serve our community not only with a program that provides education and training after a diagnosis of diabetes, but one that can offer community members an educational program if they have been diagnosed with prediabetes,” Severino said. “It’s estimated there are 84 million American adults that have prediabetes.”

Broaddus Hospital implemented the American Heart Association’s (Association) Resuscitation Quality Improvement (RQI®) program on October 1, 2017. “RQI is a new and truly innovative program that has transformed the way hospitals view CPR competency for their staff,” said Alyson Poling, Development Manager for the American Heart Association’s Resuscitation Quality Improvement program, Great Rivers Affiliate. “In the past, hospital staff were required to attend a CPR class once every two years. Randolph County Collects over 800 COVID-19 Tests
On Saturday, May 30, the Elkins-Randolph County Health Department (REHD) collected more than 800 COVID-19 tests at two drive-thru locations in Elkins and Mill Creek. The test swabs were transported to LabCorp, a state designated laboratory for analysis.
Randolph County COVID-19 Testing yields 809 negative results: two still out for processing
811 individuals were tested for COVID-19 on Saturday, May 30, during drive-thru events held in Mill Creek and Elkins. As of 1:30 p.m. Tuesday, June 2, the Randolph –Elkins Health Department reports that the results on 809 of the specimens were received and were negative. The two additional specimens were returned to the state lab due to labeling errors, but the health department expects those results later today or Wednesday.
