Mission Statement
The mission of Davis Medical Center’s Total Joint
program is to provide a total joint replacement
experience to the communities we serve that is
evidence-based and focused on quality and safety
for the patients.

Dr. Walter Boardwine
Dr. Boardwine received his medical degree from the West Virginia School of Osteopathic Medicine in Lewisburg. He completed his residency and clinical preceptorships in hand surgery, total joint arthroplasty, and geriatric medicine at Grandview Hospital in Dayton, OH.
Dr. Lucas Pavlovich
Dr. Pavlovich received his medical degree from the University of Virginia in Charlottesville before also completing a fellowship in Plastic Surgery, also at UVA. He then completed residencies in both General Surgery and Orthopaedic Surgery at the University of Virginia. Lastly, he went on to complete a fellowship in Orthopaedic Surgery and Sports Medicine at Union Memorial Hospital in Baltimore, MD.
Dr. Richard E. Topping
Dr. Topping received his medical degree from the University of Virginia Medical School in Charlottesville. He then completed a General Surgery Internship at the University of Texas in San Antonio and a Postdoctoral Research Fellowship at the University of Virginia, Department of Orthopaedics. Lastly, also at the University of Virginia, he completed his residency in Orthopaedic Surgery.

Dr. Topping is an amazing doctor with expert surgical skills. He has performed 2 complete hip replacements for me within the past 2 years. I have gained a quality of life, thanks to him!
