Davis Medical Center Behavioral Health Specialists are trained to treat individuals across the life span, perform psychiatric evaluations, and initiate and monitor psychopharmacological treatment. We believe that a collaborative and all-inclusive approach based on a patient’s individualized psychiatric needs provides better and longer lasting treatment outcomes for our patients. This includes the use of varied treatment modalities such as inpatient treatment (Laurel Place), intensive outpatient program (Senior Life Solutions), and office-based treatments.

Located at Davis Medical Center in Elkins, WV, Laurel Place is there to offer specialized care for the challenges that some seniors face.
Our team includes experienced and board-certified psychiatrists, therapists, nurses and therapeutic support staff.
Referrals to Senior Life Solutions can be made by anyone, including a patient’s physician, family member, or other health care professional.

Dr. Lauren DeMarco
Dr. DeMarco is board certified with the American Board of Psychiatry & Neurology who serves as DHS’s psychiatrist and as the Medical Director for DMC’s Geriatric Psych unit Laurel Place as well as Senior Life Solutions at Broaddus Hospital & Webster Memorial Hospital.
DeMarco received her medical degree from the WV School of Osteopathic Medicine in Lewisburg. She completed her residency at HCA Healthcare in Largo, Florida and her fellowship at the University of Rochester Strong Memorial Hospital in Rochester, New York.
Jennifer Abel, PMHNP
Jennifer is a certified nurse practitioner in psychiatric mental health, serving in both the inpatient & outpatient setting. Jennifer received her Master of Science in Nursing from Wheeling Jesuit University before receiving her post-masters in psychiatric mental health from Wilmington University, New Castle, Delaware.
Brenda Mason, APRN, DNP, FNP-BC
Brenda has worked in both the clinical field as well as nursing education field. She earned her nursing BSN from AldersonBroaddus University, her MSN in nursing rom West Virginia University and her DNP from the University of Alabama, Birmingham.
Melissa Bragg, PMHNP
Melissa graduated Magna Cum Laude from Alderson Broaddus University as an Registered Nurse and then went on to earn ANCC certification of Psychiatric & Mental Health Nurse. In May of 2023, Melissa graduated from Walden University’s Master of Science Nursing Program with a specialization as a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner.
