Vandalia Health Davis Medical Center welcomes Conkel to surgical team

Vandalia Health is pleased to welcome Steven Conkel, MD, MS, FACS, to the surgical care team at Davis Medical Center.

A board-certified general surgeon and Fellow of the American College of Surgeons, Dr. Conkel joins surgeon Ngoc Thai, MD, to provide comprehensive surgical services at Vandalia Health Davis Medical Center. Dr. Conkel specializes in general surgery and advanced robotic-assisted procedures designed to improve surgical outcomes, reduce complications and support faster recovery times.

"We are excited to welcome Dr. Conkel to our surgical team," said Diana Landsverk, RN, BSN, MBA, Chief Administrative Officer of Vandalia Health Davis Medical Center. "His expertise in advanced robotic surgery, endocrine surgery and breast surgery enhances the level of specialized care available in our region. Patients can now access a broader range of advanced surgical services close to home, reducing the need to travel for treatment while benefiting from the latest surgical techniques."

Dr. Conkel earned his medical degree from St. George's University School of Medicine in Grenada, West Indies, and completed his surgical residency at the Jewish Hospital in Cincinnati, Ohio. He is a member of the American Board of Surgery and is Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certified.
