Childbirth preparation classes
A
six-week childbirth preparation class is offered four times a year. One-day
childbirth classes are also offered four Saturdays a year. The class is free
to women who intend to deliver at Davis Memorial's Family Birthing Center,
and $35 for others. Mothers-to-be should call (304)
637-3382 to register
or for information about future classes. Classes are intended for women approaching
the last trimester of pregnancy. Each participant should bring two pillows,
wear comfortable clothes, and be accompanied by a coaching partner. Class
size is limited.
Sibling Classes
The entire family is invited to attend a free, fun, informational session designed to prepare children through age 9 for the arrival of a new sibling. What better way to foster family values! Pre-registration is required; please call (304) 637-3382 for upcoming dates. Expectant siblings learn how to:
- Safely hold the baby.
- How to help parents care for the baby.
- What new little brothers or sisters will be able to do.
- How older children might feel about the new baby.
